It’s been 75 days since you toasted to your 2011 resolutions.
How’s that going?
I know. You wish I didn’t bring it up. Trust me – I hear ya.
It’s one of the reasons I like the idea of “intentions” instead of “resolutions”. When you set a resolution, you resolve to do something. You make a promise of perfection for a particular scenario – whatever that may be, from losing weight to keeping our checkbooks balanced. Once we slip up or flake out on that, we feel that we’ve failed.
Have we truly failed or did we create a set of circumstances so inflexible that there is no room for us to be the imperfect humans which we are everyday?
My intention for this post, as I personally struggle with not wanting to track food intake for some unknown but rebellious reason, is to be your day-75 wake up call.
Don’t surrender the year. Don’t wait for some significant date on the calendar to jumpstart your intentions for a healthier you. Think about what you really want.
I want you to look back on 2011 and say, “Veni. Vidi. Vici.”
If it’s important to you, you’ll do it.
